Which one should you use?
Pick Mover (Microsoft) if
- You are a Microsoft 365 administrator moving a whole tenant into OneDrive or SharePoint — Migration Manager, Mover's successor, is built into the admin centre for exactly that.
- Your migration is organisational, with users and permissions to map, and needs to run inside Microsoft tooling.
Pick Cloud Combo if
- You used Mover as an individual and have nowhere to go. Migration Manager is for tenant admins and only moves files into Microsoft 365 — if you are one person, or moving out of OneDrive rather than in, it does not serve you.
- You need to move in a direction Microsoft does not care about: OneDrive to Google Drive, Dropbox to pCloud, OneDrive to a Nextcloud you run yourself.
- You want it self-serve, in a browser, today, without a tenant or an admin role.
How a Cloud Combo transfer actually runs
- Transfers run on our servers, not in your browser or on your machine. Your own bandwidth is not used and nothing needs to stay switched on — start a 500 GB migration from a laptop, close it, and the transfer keeps going.
- Every file is checked on arrival rather than assumed: Dropbox returns its content_hash, OneDrive and pCloud return a hash we compare, WebDAV servers are checked on size because the protocol offers nothing better. Anything that does not match is transferred again.
- Files are retried individually. One unreadable file never stops the other 200,000, and you get a report naming what failed and why instead of a silent partial copy.
- Names that a destination would reject are repaired rather than skipped — OneDrive refuses " * : < > ? / \ | and any name starting or ending with a space or dot, so those characters are replaced and the file still lands.
- Nothing is overwritten. Where a name already exists the file is written alongside, so re-running a transfer to fill gaps can never destroy what arrived the first time.
- It is built for runs that take days. The largest single migration routed so far was 2 TB, and a 510 GB move of 222,844 files completed in full — that scale is the normal case, not the edge case.

What replaced Mover.io?
Microsoft retired Mover in favour of Migration Manager in the SharePoint admin centre. It targets organisational migrations into Microsoft 365, so it only helps if you are a tenant administrator moving files into OneDrive or SharePoint. Individual users, and anyone moving files out of Microsoft, are not served by it.
How do I move files out of OneDrive now that Mover is gone?
Connect OneDrive and your destination in Cloud Combo and transfer directly between them — no downloading to your computer first. It works out of OneDrive as readily as into it, which is the direction Microsoft tooling does not cover.
Is Cloud Combo a drop-in replacement for Mover?
For personal and small-scale migrations, it covers the same ground: direct cloud-to-cloud transfers, in a browser, without downloading. It is not a replacement for tenant-scale migrations with permission mapping — that is Migration Manager territory.
Will files kept in OneDrive Personal Vault transfer?
No, and not because of a limitation on our side: Microsoft blocks every third-party app from reading Personal Vault. Move those files into an ordinary OneDrive folder first and they transfer normally.
