How to Transfer Files from Google Drive to OneDrive

Open New Transfer, browse the source drive, and select any files or entire folders — nested folders transfer completely, keeping their structure. Shared drives and folders shared with you appear alongside My Drive, so you can move material you do not own but can read.

What happens to your files on this route
- Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are not ordinary files — they exist only inside Google. They are exported on the way out to .docx, .xlsx and .pptx so they open normally at the destination, which means the file you receive has a different extension from the one you see in Drive.
- OneDrive refuses the characters " * : < > ? / \ | and any name that starts or ends with a space or a dot. Cloud Combo replaces those characters with an underscore and trims the ends, so files that OneDrive would reject still arrive instead of failing.
- Large files go up in 7.5 MiB chunks — a multiple of the 320 KiB unit Microsoft requires. Anything else is rejected mid-upload, which is a common reason hand-rolled scripts stall on big files.
- Arrival is proven, not assumed. Microsoft Graph returns a SHA-1 hash for each stored file, which Cloud Combo compares against what it uploaded. A file that does not match is transferred again automatically.
- Folder structure is preserved exactly: nested folders are recreated in OneDrive as they were in Google Drive, and empty folders come across too.

Common questions
Do I need to download my files from Google Drive first?
No. The transfer runs server-side: files stream from Google Drive straight into OneDrive without touching your computer, so your own bandwidth and disk are not used and you can close the browser while it runs.
Will this delete anything from Google Drive?
No. A transfer only ever copies. Everything stays in Google Drive exactly as it was, so you can verify the result in OneDrive before you remove anything yourself.
How long does a Google Drive to OneDrive transfer take?
Far more depends on how many files you have than on their total size: every file is a separate request to Google Drive and another to OneDrive, and both rate-limit independently, so a hundred thousand small files takes much longer than the same bytes in a few large ones. A few gigabytes across a few hundred files is usually well under an hour. Large migrations run for days and that is normal — a real 510 GB move of 222,844 files completed in full, and the largest route run so far was 2 TB. Nothing needs you present while it works.
