How to Transfer Files Between Two OneDrive Accounts

The fastest way to move files between two OneDrive accounts is a direct cloud-to-cloud transfer: files stream straight from one account to the other, without downloading everything to your computer and re-uploading it. Leaving a job or school usually means losing the Microsoft 365 account that came with it — and everything in its OneDrive. Moving those files to a personal OneDrive account is the classic reason for an account-to-account transfer.    Connect your first OneDrive account

   From the dashboard, click "Add Drive" and connect your first OneDrive account. You'll sign in with the provider directly via OAuth — Cloud Combo never sees your password.

   Connect your second OneDrive account

   Add your second OneDrive account as well. Both drives now appear side by side in your dashboard.

   Select the files or folders to move

   Open New Transfer, browse the source drive, and select any files or entire folders — nested folders transfer completely, keeping their structure. Personal Vault will not be listed: Microsoft hides it from every third-party app, so move anything you need out of it first.

   Pick a destination folder and confirm

   Choose where the files should land, review the total size, and start the transfer. It runs in the cloud — you can close the tab and watch live progress on the Transfer List page. Files land in your normal OneDrive space; the destination folder can be anywhere except Personal Vault, which no app can write to either.

What happens to your files on this route

• Files kept in OneDrive's Personal Vault cannot be read by Cloud Combo, or by any other third-party app — Microsoft blocks all of them, by design. Move those files into an ordinary folder before you transfer, or they will be reported as unreadable and left behind.
• Large files go up in 7.5 MiB chunks — a multiple of the 320 KiB unit Microsoft requires. Anything else is rejected mid-upload, which is a common reason hand-rolled scripts stall on big files.
• Because both accounts are on OneDrive, nothing is converted and no filename has to be altered — what leaves the first account is byte-for-byte what lands in the second. Microsoft Graph returns a SHA-1 hash for each stored file, which Cloud Combo compares against what it uploaded.
• The two accounts stay completely separate in Cloud Combo, labelled by their account email, so there is no risk of writing back into the account you are moving away from.
